Jim Duncan over at the RealCentralVa blog has written a post that follows thread of conversation that Michael over FBS Blog began, Brian at Geekestate continued. I am glad to hear that at the national level there is serious consideration given to the concerns and ideas that have been raised by Brian and others in the RE community.
The quote that grabbed my attention in Jim Duncan’s post was
“Yet consumers don’t want to search many sites, they want to search one. They want to be confident they are seeing the entire inventory.”
This sentiment has been reflected almost verbatim in every conversation I have had with brokers and agents on the subject so it is really good to hear that at some level that perspective is going to be represented at the national level.
In related news…
Michael Wurzer over at FBS Blog has setup a site called the Future of MLS Wiki, the stated purpose of this wiki is to:
The purpose of this wiki is to create an opportunity for those interested to discuss and collaborate on the core issues facing real estate agents, brokers, MLSs and associations (local, regional and national). As discussed in The Future of MLS is Now, the need for this discussion is acute. The web presents both the need and opportunity to define the future of real estate.
I hope that everyone who reads this blog will take a moment and check the site out as well contribute to the development of this resource. I personally plan on taking an active role at this site and hope to see it develop as a resource for the decision makers in the industry. I believe as I have said before that the decisions made in the years to come will define the industry and the role of MLS in it for years to come.
