Love it or hate it Office 2007 is getting more and more popular which is fine except with 2007 Microsoft introduced a new file format. It seems that every day I get a question from a member or friend of what do with these docx or xlsx files. The good news is that Microsoft has become aware of the issue and released a 2007 compatibility pack, this package will allow office 2000, XP, and 2003 users to open and save documents in the 2007 file format.
I have tested the compatibility pack out and found that it works well and highly recommend installing it if you don’t plan on upgrading to 2007 in the near future.

docXConverter 2.0 allows P.C. and Mac users to easily open and use files saved in the new Word 2007 format docx and in the new Excel 2007 format xlsx, even if the programs installed on your computer are not capable of opening docx or xlsx files.
docXConverter reads the docx or xlsx file you want to access, converts it to RTF (Rich Text Format) or CSV (Comma separated values) that are easily read by standard computer programs and instructs one of your programs to open the converted file. All this is done seamlessly and does not get in your way. The initial set-up of docXConverter is done automatically; you can be up and running in seconds. You can also adjust the settings according to your specific configurations or needs.
