On A Personal Note

First an apology, my posting has been a sporadic lately however that should change in the next couple of weeks. For the curious I have been studying for my Certified Ethical Hacker and MCDBA certifications and it has taken a lot of my personal time. So I really appreciate Michael taking up the slack.

Also…

Regular readers of the blog will perhaps remember that in November I graduated with my Bachelors of Science in Business Management. Well I received my diploma today and it affected me more than I thought it would. I always thought that the act of graduation was the culminating event, however holding the actual degree in my hand I was struck by the work it represented and the milestone it reflected. Suffice it to say that this has inspired me to get started on the next stage of my journey, my masters.

I am sure each of you reading this blog have your own moments of personal achievement and though I may not know many of you personally I would love to hear about them. So feel free to leave a comment or drop an email.

Congratulations Mark! It is always inspiring to see people finish what they started. The odds reflect the challenge. The vast majority of people who pause or protract the completion of their bachelors, for whatever reason, do not ever complete the degree.
For my personal moment of achievement, I was unfortunate enough to break my neck and suffer temporary paralysis in the summer of my sophomore year at Michigan. I was fortunate enough, paradoxically, to be at Michigan, perhaps the finest research medical school in the nation. Thanks to their help, I was able to get back on my feet (after a fashion), and complete my studies. It is certainly a feeling of completion and accomplishment, but as Mark is experiencing now, even more it is a rebirth to a whole new set of challenges and opportunities.
